Norris Lake Fishing Reports
Norris Lake Report 5-11-13
Mother Nature keeps playing with us. Water temps are hovering around the mid-60`s still and the water levels are in the bushes Most areas clear to lightly stained.
The Bass are being caught on everything right now. Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, shakey heads, carolina rigs, jigs, topwaters and swimbaits. Try fishing the main and secondary points and flats coming out from the spawning areas. The better bass this past week were taken on texas rigged plastics, carolina rigs, topwaters, crankbaits and swimbaits. The bite should only get better through May when the shad and bluegill start spawning , so plan your trip now, get out and strectch your line while the fish are shallow and the bite is on.
The Crappie bite continues to be very good. However; keep in mind the bite does vary from day to day depending on conditions. This past week our best catches came under a bobber , tightlining and trolling from 8 feet to 20ft. Try around brush piles, and spawning flats and points. Although some were not keepers, we have been getting some limits this past week almost every trip. Averaging catches this past wee were about 30 to 40 fish per trip. Plan your trip now and get in on the action this May.
And don`t forget! The Bluegill will be bedding soon and you can catch them almost non-stop when you find them. We also offer night trips starting the 1st of June for bass and crappie throughout the Summer and the night bite can be great and the lake is not near as busy in the evening hours either.
