MEET YOUR ANGLING GUIDES
To whom it may concern, I booked a fishing trip with David Berry the last week of July 2005. This was an evening trip for my family that included my twin twelve year olds. As everyone knows the last week of July is hot, the fishing is usually slow, and kids are very impatient. To make a long story short we had a great time and my kids wanted to go back the next day after we finished in Dollywood. I would not hesitate to recommend David Berry for the laid back fisherman (my oldest son) or an aggressive trophy hunter (myself). You can expect a professional guide and a true gentleman that is easy to talk to. We were provided with good equipment and a memorable experience. In addition if any one would like to contact me to confirm this letter, I can be reached at 903-235-4917.
Dear Smokies Angling Adventures, Our family decided to take a small vacation during spring break and come to your part of the world. My cousin and I own and operate a hunting lodge ourselves and so we wanted to fish for something we didn’t have back in Texas, so we opted for trout fishing. We found your guide service on the internet and booked our reservation. Noah Ricker was our guide. He was great. We caught a good stringer of trout that day and everyone had fun. Take it from someone who does this for a living, Smokies Angling Service is the way to go. You know you had a good time when you still talk about it a month later and want to go back! Thanks Noah for a great memory.
Thanks so much for taking me and my brother out on Lake Douglas. We had a great time catching smallmouth, largemouth, Stripers and Walleye. Having a captain that is a blast on the boat made the day that much more fun! I will recommend you to all of my friends and family or to anyone I meet in my travels.
On September 17th, I had a fishing trip with you on Douglas Lake. As explained to you
before I booked the trip, my nephew is autistic and might need extra attention. .
While Wes is a fisherman (casting only) he had not used a “bobber”. The attention and
lessons you gave Wes on how to fish in this manner was greatly appreciated by his
father and me. Wes talked about the 24 fish he caught for the next two days. The pontoon
boat was ideal for someone with special needs.and we would not hesitate to recommend
your services. Look forward to fishing with you again.
My 10 year old son’s still talking, ”Smack!!” about our latest guided trip with Capt. David Berry!! What,” Bass-Fishing” Dad wants to out fish his oldest son? Well…it didn’t matter if I did or not on 5/20/2010. Capt. Berry showed Jason and me the finer points of Carolina Rigging with brush hogs, and plastic worms. 5 min. later, Jason Anakin proceeds to put on a, ”Clinic” He landed Smallies in the 2.5 lb range, as well as Largemouth in the same range all day long!! He thought he was going to sit and take a break after a few Smallies showed him how strong they are, but I got him back out there! Seemed like wherever Capt. Berry put us…Jason found the fish!! I caught a nice limit of Largemouth myself, and I lost what looked like a nice 4 lb hog…but Jason stole the show!! What made my catches satisfying was that most of them were on a football head jig. I’ve landed several fish with a jig the last 2 years. It’s been my absolute,” Least” favorite lure of all times. I made myself comfortable with it, by fishing it, and Capt. Berry assisted by giving me the layout of some of the features of the lake. (Drop-offs, ledges, rock vs sandy gravel, limbs, brushpiles, etc….)
All in all…time well spent, and more memories made. Smokies Angling Adventures will continue to be a part of our Tennessee Family Vacations! Thank you for everything Capt. Berry!!!
